Sustain is age retardant widely used in 2097. It's featured in the Tales of the Witchblade.

Creation[]
The age retardant was developed by a five scientists team. In order to test the chemical on humans, they got five subjects from a prison. The first one, Esther Dannen, was injected with the Sustain dosage that was hundreds of times what people would take in the future. Dannen appeared to die under that dosage and her corpse was placed in storage, where it stayed for three years.
Once Sustain was fully developed, the team chose to drop below the publicity horizon. Although they still kept contact with each other in order to remember what they did to Dannen.
2097[]
By the year 2097, Sustain is widely used. It's also applied by slapping a small sticker on his body and then experiencing a two second blackout as they genetic code rewrites.
