Yusuke Tozawa (斗沢 祐介 Tōzawa Yūsuke) is a character appearing in Witchblade anime series. He is a freelance photographer who seeks information about the Witchblade for a story, since he believes that it is associated with certain serial killings and he eventually becomes Masane Amaha's friend.
Personality[]
Tozawa comes across as an incredibly relaxed and laid-back man who barely seems to care about the things around him. However, underneath all that cool personality of his is a man who cares deeply for the people around him, including his friends, and always tries to help or protect them in any significant way.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
According to him, in his youth Tozawa sold all his possessions to embark on a photography journey, to accumulate the necessary experience as a photographer. When he felt he had gained all the experience he needed, he returned to Japan to show off the photographs he had taken during his trip.
However, because of the Great Quake, all the people he wanted to show the photos to, his family, his teacher, his girlfriend, were all dead by that time. Even so, to his own shock, despite withstanding all of this, he simply couldn't even bring himself to cry or scream in pain. As he came out of his shock, he realized that all he had left was the camera in his hands, and he simply began to photograph the devastation caused by the Great Quake. Saying at the same time that even his own self was buried under that ruble.

- Driving Skills: Tozawa appears to have incredible driving skills, even managing to pull out of a car chase.
- Photography Skills: Having spent his entire life preparing to become a photographer, Tozawa has incredibly good photography skills. However, he does seem to have some discomfort with digital cameras.
- Detective Skills: Despite the fact that he has never been part of or involved with law enforcement, Tozawa appears to have a remarkable talent when it comes to searching for and collecting classified information. Or, better said, information regarding the "X-Con" monsters.
Etymology[]
- The name Yusuke means "divine help, divine protection" (祐) (yu) and "forerunner, herald" (介) (suke).
- Yusuke's surname Tozawa means "dipper" (斗) (to) and "marsh" (沢) (sawa/zawa).
Trivia[]
- Yusuke is among the first ones to nickname Masane Amaha "Masamune" ("Melony" in the English dub).
- Masamune refers to her huge chest ("masa-mune" meaning "undefeatable breasts").
- Melony referring to her breasts like melons.
